Is this cool or what? We just purchased an iPad mini for updating our blog along the trail! O.k., why the change of plans? Well, our laptop just quit connecting to our jet pack, and it was either spend a couple hundred dollars repairing the computer, or get this little gem.
There are a lot of pluses with this gadget, the main one being that it is super easy to use. The keyboard is way bigger than the iPhone, so we can type much faster. Since it is fairly light, 11.15 oz., it will replace our much heavier cell phones, and we can have daily updates of our blog when we get a signal instead of once a week updates we were going to have. Yeah!!!!
Another advantage is a bigger screen so we can see it better, and we can just upload Halfmiles maps super easy if we need to. This connects to our email, it gives us another phone number, and connects directly to the icloud for retrieving pictures better. Oh the simplicity! We are super stoked, if you couldn't tell. And an extra thank you goes out to Joe at the Verizon store who helped us with this purchase!! : }
We will be carrying a solar charger, the Suntactics sCharger-5 suntactics.com that works to charge all of our devices, even does well in half light. We know, we've tried it!
We are just getting used to this, some minor things are popping up like adding videos and certain pictures, but we're confident we'll get it worked out. If anyone has experience with this device, feel free to make a comment about any shortcuts or ways to make adding pictures and videos easier. Or how to get it to preview our blog before we post on Blogger. We haven't figured that out yet.
On that note we'll leave you with a video we took at Lake Morena last year of something we actually witnessed first hand, not just the aftermath. It is a good test video for this application. Enjoy the rattlesnake poop!
