Our Inagural Hike with Sue & the Bald Guy

Well, we were finally able to hook up with Sue and the Bald Guy for our first hike together. We have been emailing back and forth, and have visited with each other twice since we first said hello on their journal site http://jeff-n-sue2013.blogspot.com/. All we can say is... What a terrific time we had!

We went to their house, then they took us to Cape Lookout near Tillamook, Ore. We found out that the Bald Guy has an irresistable sense of humor (should be called the Fun Guy), and that Sue is the super hiker we thought she was. (She is in desperate need of a trail name). The weather was on the cool side, and some of the trail in the shade was icy.

This is what the ride to the trailhead was like:

The hike itself was short but sweet, and the views out over the ocean were fantastic. The Bald Guy even pointed out a bald eagle (they were like two peas in a pod)! It wasn't our first bald eagle we ever saw, but it is a rather breathtaking sight whenever you see one.

Legasorus and Pocahontas found out that we were not wearing the gloves that fit us best. Pocahontas found that her hands were too warm in her gloves, while Legasorus had hands that were way too cold in his gloves. So, we did what any self respecting hiker would do, we switched gloves, and found each others to be just right. So now we have new gloves that didn't cost us anything!

So that was basically how our first hiking trip with our new friends went. So far, so good!!!

This is the way true thru hikers end their hikes: PIZZA!
